The GFA have issued guidance on the PATHWAY to achieving this qualification. (Diagram below also.)
To become accredited as an Annual Inspector requires study and practical work over and above simply attending the Airworthiness training course.
It is unlikely that an inexperienced candidate will achieve accreditation as an Annual Inspector just by attending the course.
At the end of the course candidates will be provided with clear guidance on the additional experience they require in order to gain accreditation.
For candidates with previous maintenance experience, for example as a GA LAME or holding an RAAUS qualification, this will be taken into account during the course assessment.
For candidates seeking a maintenance qualification:
There is a maximum of six candidates for the full course; cost is approx $1,200 (inc GST) per person.
To apply please fill in the APPLICATION FORM and return to jwharington+rtoa@gmail.com
If you require refresher training:
By arrangement you may attend the course for one day at a cost of $200.
If you are interested in airworthiness training but cannot attend this course:
Please let us know as it helps us to plan future courses.
For VSA members, if your Club endorses your attendance, the VSA will provide a $500 subsidy once you complete the pathway to a Form 2 rating. Some clubs have previously assisted their members financially so do speak to your Club’s airworthiness officer.
Costs of accommodation and meals are the responsibility of the individual candidates.
Joining instructions will be sent to successful applicants with pre-course study material.
